   Manas wildlife sanctuary is a national park situated in Assam India. This park is the only place in Assam for the Tiger reserve and also famous for the rare species of panda and monkey (red Panda and golden langur). This is one of the best- kept national park in India. The completely vicinity of park falls under five different districts including Darranga, Chirang, Udalguri, Baksa, Kokarjhar. This park is covering an area of 39,100 hectares which is spans to the Manas river and bounded to the north by the forests of Bhutan. Manas wildlife sanctuary or UNESCO world heritage site's includes a range of forested hill ,tropical evergreen forest and greenery grassland. Also the park is a treasure trove of a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Animals and birds in Manas national park-

The national park's incredible biodiversity includes more then 550 species included in 55 species of mammals, 450 species of birds, 50 species of reptiles,and some other species of amphibians. And Approximately 1000 different species of plants can also be observed here. The key attractions of Manas wildlife sanctuary is tiger, leopard, red pandas,One- horned rhinoceros

Golden Langur, panther, water buffalo ect.

Things to do in Manas-

Where to stay in Manas-

While staying inside the park is prohibited,there are some best places to stay in the vicinity.

1. Musa jungle retreat-

     If you're looking for a luxurious  place to stay then this is the best option for you inside the park with AC rooms and other accommodations. Cost: 4500/night,to villas going up to rupees 12500/- per night.

2. Smiling Tusker Elephant Lodge-

          This is one of the best lodge located inside the national park they have provided cozy and cottage, delicious food and drink. Rooms are non-AC but attached with toilet. Within the cost-3900/ night.

How to reach-

   You can reach Manas either by toad or by air or train from any nearby destination. But  there are no direct train or flight to reach the gates of national park. The location falls on the national highway-31 with well connected roads to the major cities around Assam. Gawhati airport is nearest airport of  Manas it's situated at approximately 150 kilometres distance from the national park gate. By train it's around 50 kilometres from Barpeta railway station. As well by road you can start your travel by bus or cab from Gawhati, Barpeta, Jorhat these are the shortest distance cities to reach Manas.

    Maibang is located about 47 kilometres from Haflong towards the southern end of maibang city. History behind the city was once a flourishing city and served as the capital of Dimasa Kingdom for  Assam's kachri rulers between 1500s to 1700s and now this place is famous for the Ramachandi temple. If you admire architecture and find solace in divinity then you can visit the Ramachandi temple. There are many great waterfalls surrounding the city as well.

Jatinga-

    This place is situated close to the Haflong ridge known as the valley of death for birds. The famous bird watching center of t the place is located just 9 Kilometres away from Haflong town. Jatinga offers you to watch many rare endorsed species of birds. Many said that birds fly to this place because they are attracted by the bright lights in the houses and somewhere get disoriented.but unable to fly away and killed by the hunters.

During the months of September to November many species of birds would die mysteriously in Jatinga specially in night time when fogs and mild shower set in. If you were seeking to nature from closer quarters then this is the ultimate place to enjoy it.

THE HOTTEST PLACE ON EARTH

 Death Valley National Park is all about the extremeness of nature. This park is the lowest, dryest, hottest place in northern America. This valley is famous for the highest temperature 130 degree Fahrenheit in July 1936 which is ever recorded anywhere in the world. The valley is enfolded by mountains that rise to over 11,000 feet high that experience  snow and below zero degree weather as well as crayons & sand dunes and colourful  badlands and At 282 below see level is the lowest point of North America. The valley is covering around 3000 square miles which is larger then Yellowstone. The average rainfall in death valley yearly is only 2 inches Which is less then many others dessert in the world.

        

        

      For tourists the best time to visit the death valley is Spring season besides warm and sunny,hezzy days the probability of spring wildlife is a big attractions. The entire dessert can put on an impressive floral display, usually speaking in late of march and early April. Summer season for death valley is not a joke this season usually start early in this place may the valley is too hottest during this time visitors from all around the globe still flock to the park. Autumn arrives over here in late of October with lightly warm pleasant temperatures with clear skies. Winter has cool days with snowy rainstorm and chilly pleasant night this season  is perfect to explore the valley.

Laitlum Canyon-

It is located at 25 Kilometres from the capital Shillong. The Laitlum Canyon lies on the Jowai- Shillong route and this place is famous for the deepest gorges and hills under the complete blanket of green trees.

Garo Hills-

Garo hills is situated close to the Indo-Bangladesh border in swaddled area which is ended across the Indo- Myanmar border is home to the Balpakharm National park, Nokrek Biosphere Reserve, Siju wildlife Sanctuary. Garo hills offer to there tourists magnificent viewpoints, deepest and subtropical forests and some rare endemic species of birds and animals. Living Root Bridges-

The living root bridge is a natural created bridge in Meghalaya. In the East of this bridge is khasi and west is jaintia hills. To reach both places you'll have a trek quite a bit. This living root bridge is grow from the roots of rubber tree.

Umiam Lake-

Umiam lake is a artificial water reservior which is formed by the damming of the Umami river.This place is serves as one of the popular tourist attraction for Shillong. The place is lies on Guwahati- Shillong highway and 18 km outside from the capital city Shillong. This water reservior is covering a vast area of 10 sq. Kilometer the larger lake has rightly been termed as Barapani by the localities. Apart from that this lake is a source of power generation, fishing and irrigation, portable water ect.

Elephant Waterfall-

The elephant waterfalls  are the amongest the most popular falls in the North- East  situated in 10 kilometres from the capital city Shillong. This is a two tiered cascading waterfall.

Dawki River-

The river is situated in Dwaki town of Meghalaya. This town is the third most visited place in Meghalaya after cherrapunjee and the capital city Shillong. Which is located at Indo- Bangladesh border area. It is famous for campaigns and boat rides.

Mawlynnong Village-

This village is holds the record of the cleanest village in Asia. It is situated in the East Khasi Hill district. It is like a Paradise on earth. Every house in this village is follows a strictly environment cleanliness  protocol even you can spot the bamboo dustbin in front of the every single house. In this village plastic polythene and smoking are completely banned by the villagers.

 Dong is a small village in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh where India receives first rays of the sun. At 1,240 meters above from the sea level, Dong is situated in the left bank of Lohit River which is a tributary of Brahmaputra and sati,  and this is the easternmost village in India. This village is located between China and Myanmar.The village is now connected by a iron floored foot suspension bridge over the river Lohit. 

The place was discovered in the year 1999. The majestic beauty of this place is really amazing to explore and discover. On an average, the sun rises at around 4.26 A.M and sets at around 5.00 P.M. In winter season, almost an hour before other places in the country witness the same. Only to see the first sunrise from behind the mountains visitors are comes to this village and covering an 8 kilometer trek. To visit other  places  in Dong is Namti plains war memorial, walong war memorial, Tilam.The best time  to visit the Dong valley is between the months April and July. You can hope to explore the best possible sight- seeing places during this time of the year.

  

Rise of Urban Poverty in India

   As cities across the globe rapidly change and develop, life is becoming increasingly difficult for those who left behind it. In India, the causes of urban poverty can be linked to  lack of infrastructure in rural areas, which is forcing its inhabitants to seek out for work in India’s mega-cities. Main responsible factors are included in increase rate of rising population,Less productivity in agriculture,Less utilization of natural resources, a short rate of economic development, huge rate of illiteracy, Increases in products price,unemployment etc. 

People continue to move away from rural areas to developed cities that's why the ratio of urban poverty has slowly increase. Because of their poor economic condition they can't able afford good housing facilities and healthy food, medical facilities, water, electricity ect and they are facing several problems like homelessness or living in slums area, access to water,public transportation ,job, good education etc… Surprisingly, and what makes many say that many government Indian officials don’t still give a damn about the poor peoples, and theirs social housing and lifestyle. Surveyors have essentially use the shortcut tools to count the numbers of poor people living in urban slums areas around the world for more then three decades. With potentially outmoded tools, it's seems like that the numbers they are report are off base, most likely too low from the reality.

Poverty is more prevalentable in rural areas comparatively from urban area, but the gap is gradually closing and many surveyors says that many Indian states report higher poverty figure in urban areas. Which is negatively affecting health, education, sanitation and general livelihoods, urban poverty creates serious difficulties for those groups of women, children and the elder peoples whom are living in slums areas.

    Now the urban poverty in India is over 25 percent, according to 2001's report Indian cities have a slum population of 23.7 pecents which are living in urban areas. The majorty means around 11.2 millions of them are only living in Maharashtra. Whose capital city Mumbai is home of Dharvi slums. According to 2009 report Around 81 million peoples  are living in urban areas with low income. By 2030  urbanisation is projected to reach 50 present. Recently in 2019, the Indian government stated that 6.7% of its population is below its official poverty limit.

   Since 2020 due to this deadly covid-19 pandemic the cycle of economic growth has worsley impacted.City dwellers mainly the poor informal sector workers are badly affected for this pandemic. Social distancing norms, lockdown in all over the country and continuesly extention of lockdown,shutting down of markets, factories and other sources of theirs income has badly affected and allied activities have also paralyzed the work opportunities for these sections of urban populations and this is an another cause of rising urban poverty.
